The Second Day

The Creation of Heaven

Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

The firmament is that part of the mind in which the Self experiences consciousness. It is the place where the Self’s focused and projected feelings form images. Feelings change as the Self gains new knowledge and understanding, and so what the Self learned previously is lost as it is no longer focused on. The Self does not yet possess a place in the mind to store memories.

Interpretation:

So the Self said; Let the place where consciousness is experienced be separated and fixed firmly in the centre of the mind, and let it divide the mind from the mind.

Now the mind had been divided into 3 parts:

Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

Notice that the firmament was made; it was made from what had already been created.

Interpretation:

And the Self made the firmament, the fixed and separate place for the conscious mind and in doing so, the Self divided the mind which was under the conscious mind, from the mind that was above the conscious mind, and the Self’s desire was fulfilled. Waters is a reference to the substance of mind.

Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Interpretation:

And the Self called the fixed and separated conscious mind Heaven with a capital ‘H’. What is made is always more important than what it is made from.

And the beginning and ending of this desire was the second day.
