The Gospel of Mary Magdalene Fully Interpreted: Going Deeper

William has gone deeper into the meanings in Chapter 8 of the Gospel of Mary concerning the 3 beasts and 7 angels.

Chapter 8:

Introduction

Every Soul including yours, has 4 Primary Spiritual Powers. It is these 4 primary spiritual powers that we refer to as Basic Instincts.

Every Soul including yours also has 7 spirits, which we refer to as 7 Angels. The duty of these Angels is to guard and guide the Soul in its attempt to control its 4 Primary Spiritual Powers.

It should be noted that in this Chapter, the Soul begins its quest from a point where the 4 Spiritual Powers have become dominant, and the 7 Angels have fallen.

It is how you choose to use your 4 Spiritual Powers that will determine your destiny. For example, your Powers may be used for righteous or unrighteous purposes.

In scriptures these 4 Spiritual Powers are likened to 4 Beasts, this is because they are powerful and can become dangerous and unruly if not dominated by you.

These 4 Spiritual Powers are also likened to 4 Horses, this is because they carry the Soul on its journey through life. It is for this reason that they must be dominated and tamed, or they will become wild and will determine the direction that the rider is taken.

These 4 Spiritual Powers are also likened to 4 Rivers. This is because in scriptures Spirit is likened to water. For example, it can give life, or sustain life or take life. It flows, it moves; it is the source of Spiritual energy when in motion.

The river that flowed out of Eden and parted into 4 rivers was the source of the 4 Powers.

If the Soul does not control its 4 Spiritual Powers then those 4 Powers will control the Soul, and you will be at their mercy.

  1st Power 2nd Power 3rd Power 4th Power
Ascended Light Righteous desire Knowledge Life
Descended Darkness Unrighteous desire Ignorance Death

It can also be seen that the 4 Spiritual Powers have 2 sides to their nature. There is a good side that is righteous, and a bad side that is unrighteous.

If the Powers are used for righteous purposes, the Soul will ascend up to the Light and Eternal Life. If the Powers are used for unrighteous purposes, the soul will descend down to the darkness and spiritual death, which is the absence of Love, Truth and Understanding.

In this chapter of the Gospel of Mary it is described how the Soul overcomes the 4 Powers and 7 Angels in order to ascend back to the place from which it has fallen.

Each of the 4 Spiritual Powers has 2 extreme states.

There is the ascended state and there is the descended state.

The first Power in its ascended state is LIGHT. In its descended state it is DARKNESS.

The second Power in its ascended state is RIGHTEOUS DESIRE. In its descended state it is UNRIGHTEOUS DESIRE.

The third Power in its ascended state is KNOWLEDGE. In its descended state it is IGNORANCE.

The fourth Power has 7 forms of wrath, this is because it represents the combined powers of the Souls 7 Fallen Angels. We will speak of them when we get to verse 19.

Every Soul including yours has 7 Angels. When they are ascended they open the door to Heaven and Eternal Life. When they are descended they are known as Fallen Angels. It is the 7 Angels that hold the Power of life or death for the Soul.

The fourth Power then is the Power of DEATH, but even this can be overcome by Love, Truth and Understanding.

We can now move on to interpreting the Gospel of Mary Magdalene Chapter 8 and learn how to overcome and conquer the powers and principalities that every Soul struggles with.

Chapter 8: 1 – 9

The First Power is Darkness

. . . it.

Chapter 8 verses 1 – 9 are missing due to damage to the scroll, but the subject of its content is not lost. It is apparent that verses 1 to 9 relate to the first Power that is DARKNESS, which is the absence of LIGHT.

That which is hidden in the DARKNESS cannot be seen, but it can be felt, and when that feeling is not good it results in FEAR. This can prevent the Soul from questioning what it feels. The FEAR then becomes irrational, causing the Soul to imagine all kinds of negative possibilities, which only serve to increase the FEAR, thereby increasing the DARKNESS in the mind, and blocking the Soul’s ability to reason.

What would have been in Verse 1 – 9.

The Soul said to the DARKNESS; I did not question you, not because I was afraid of you, but because I was afraid of the LIGHT that was hiding within you. I was afraid that I would be made to look bad. I have chosen to be humble and live in the light of Truth, whatever it may reveal. I saw you and now I perceive the light that was hidden from me. I was blind but now I see.

‘Out of darkness cometh Light.’ It is because of the lack of fear that the blind are able to see.

The first Power, which is DARKNESS had now been overcome, so we now turn to the second Power which is DESIRE, and it too has become dominating. The rest of the scroll is intact so I will begin my interpretation them now.

10) And desire said, I did not see you descending, but now I see you ascending. Why do you lie since you belong to me?

The Second Power is Desire

Interpretation:

In the Souls pursuit of pleasure, DESIRE had become unrighteous and dominant to the point that it ruled the Souls life.

Previously the Soul had not realized that it had been overpowered by Desire, because it had not then overcome the DARKNESS.

DESIRE had not seen the Soul descending because of the DARKNESS, but now DESIRE is able to see the Soul ascending because of the LIGHT the Soul carries.

Every Soul including yours was created by righteous Desire and is referred to in scripture as the FATHER. When the Soul fell from grace it was led to believe that unrighteous DESIRE was its FATHER.

When the Soul realized this was not true, it gained more LIGHT and began to ascend further. When unrighteous DESIRE saw that the Soul had rejected it as its FATHER, it claimed that the Soul was lying by rejecting it as its FATHER and master.

11) The soul answered and said, I saw you. You did not see me nor recognize me. I served you as a garment and you did not know me.

Interpretation:

As the Soul was descending it had seen that its Desire was unrighteous, and because of this the Soul had gained more Light and it had begun to ascend further.

Desire had not seen or recognized the Soul as it was Descended, because unrighteous Desire only sees and recognizes what belongs to it.

Desire is the HEART of the Soul, and when that HEART becomes unrighteous, seeking pleasure in evil ways, it becomes the Soul’s master, and the Soul is made to serve the heart as a garment. DESIRE had only cared about its own fulfillment, and so it did not know about the Soul or its needs.

If you follow an unrighteous heart, you will not be free, and it will only lead to the death of the Soul.

12) When it said this, it (the soul) went away rejoicing greatly.

Interpretation:

The Soul went away rejoicing greatly because it was free of desire and had become its own master.

The Third Power is Ignorance

13) Again it came to the third power, which is called ignorance.

Interpretation:

The opposite of ignorance is knowledge therefore ignorance is a lack of knowledge.

Ignorance is intentional, because it arises out of the refusal to question for fear of being left open to judgement.

14) The power questioned the soul, saying, Where are you going? In wickedness are you bound. But you are bound; do not judge!

Interpretation:

The Soul had already overcome the first two powers, and now all that it needed to overcome the third power, was for ignorance to ask a question in judgement and it did.

Ignorance could see that the Soul was intent on leaving it and so it began judging the Soul.

Ignorance asked the Soul where it was going and then proceeded to judge the Soul. Ignorance which had bound the Soul, then accused the Soul of being bound in wickedness and told the Soul not to judge because of this.

In judging the Soul, ignorance had inadvertently judged itself as being bound in wickedness, and with this knowledge, ignorance was replaced with knowledge.

15) And the soul said, Why do you judge me, although I have not judged?

Interpretation:

The Soul had realized that if it judged it would leave itself open to judgement. If we are afraid of judging ourselves first, then what right have we to judge others?

16) I was bound, though I have not bound.

Interpretation:

The Soul had been bound by ignorance, but it had not bound others in ignorance, therefore the Soul was innocent.

17) I was not recognized. But I have recognized that the All is being dissolved, both the earthly things and the heavenly.

Interpretation:

The Soul had not been recognized as the Master by the unrighteous things in its kingdom, but now it recognizes that those things are being dissolved in the ALL, which is its mind, both the unconscious things and the conscious things.

The mind is the kingdom within, it is the Soul’s domain, and it is where the Souls powers reside.

18) When the soul had overcome the third power, it went upwards and saw the fourth power, which took seven forms.

Interpretation:

The Soul had overcome the first three Powers which are, DARKNESS, DESIRE and IGNORANCE, and now it ascended to face the fourth Power which was quite different from the others. This Power took 7 forms, and together they form the Souls fourth Power.

It is this power that leads the Soul to DEATH and HELL, and if overcome will lead the Soul to Eternal Life and Heaven, home, the place of its birth.

The Chapter 19

The fourth Power is Death

The fourth Power is the result of the combined powers of the 7 forms of wrath. These forms of wrath are the powers of the 7 Fallen Angels, and they are the powers of evil.

Every Soul has 7 Angels and it is these Angels that together form the personality type of the Soul. In other words, they determine whether the Soul is a Christ or Anti-Christ.

In the beginning the Soul is given charge over the 7 Angels, in other words, the 7 Angels are the servants of the Soul. It is the duty of the 7 Angels to guard and guide the Soul.

When we come into the world, we are innocent and so are our Angels. We find ourselves in a place ruled by the ignorant, a place full of temptation, a place with no Christ to teach us the Way, the Truth and the Life. Even the teachings of the last Christ had been pruned and misinterpreted, until they defy logic and reasoning.

It was inevitable that the Soul would be corrupted along with its Angels. It is time to reclaim what was stolen from you, redemption was always in your hands.

We can now look at the 7 Powers of Wrath which belong to the 7 Fallen Angels, and in understanding you can find the Truth that will set you free and return your Power.

19) The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.

Interpretation:

The first is the Angel of Darkness

Interpretation:

Each of the 7 Angels had a duty to provide the Soul with a specific power. The duty of the first Angel was to work in order to gain the power of INSIGHT for the Soul.

INSIGHT is the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding. The LIGHT is the light of understanding. When we search deep in the mind, such as in meditation, it is the first Angel that is working with us. If when searching, we do not find what we are look for, it is either because we are distracted by our emotions and therefore not in a state of peace. Or we have lost interest and let go of the Angels hand, or the Angel has become disobedient and rebellious. In this situation the Angel begins to fall, taking the Soul’s power with it. When the Soul loses all its Insight, it is said to be spiritually blind, seeing only with its physical eyes.

INSIGHT

When insight is absent the Soul is incapable of empathy, which is the ability to feel what others feel. It is one thing to know someone’s emotional state by observing their physical actions, but it is a quite different thing to personally feel what the other person is feeling emotionally.

Without insight the Soul cannot empathize. This means there is no connection between its Soul and another.

Without Insight then there can be no empathy, and without empathy there can be no feelings of quilt, because the Soul simply does not know what it is doing to others.

If you feel guilt, it is because you have empathy, and if you feel empathy, it is because you have Insight. Guilt is not a curse it is a blessing, it is there to correct our behaviour to others, it shows the Way.

The first Angel is then referred to as being the Angel of DARKNESS, and the Soul is referred to as being spiritually dead, because it does not have the Light of Understanding which gives Life.

This first Angel was the most important of the 7 because its duty was to provide insight, and without insight it was inevitable that the other Angels would fall. It is this Angel in its ascended state that we refer to as LUCIFER, it was the first Angel, the giver of Light, the Morning Star.

When the Soul is left without insight it can only imagine what is hidden in the darkness, and what it imagines is dependent on its other Angels.

The second is the Angel of Desire

Interpretation:

This second Angel is the Angel of DESIRE, and its duty was to provide the Soul with PLEASURE. It is PLEASURE that makes life worth living, and a journey worth continuing.

Ask yourself this question: If your whole life was devoid of pleasure what would be the purpose of living?

No Soul can survive a life journey without a reason for enduring it.

In the absence of pleasure or peace there is only tribulation.

You may not realize it but everything that you do is done in the pursuit of pleasure, even peace is a pleasurable experience. There are those who pursue pleasure by helping others, and there are those who pursue pleasure only for themselves.

Desire and peace cannot coexist. It is only when a desire is fulfilled that it is silenced, and it is in that silence that peace can be experienced.

The only thing that can coexist with peace is LOVE and that Love must be unconditional.

LOVE is the pleasure that is felt when a desire is fulfilled or expected to be fulfilled. When a desire cannot be fulfilled because of an obstacle, it causes strong anger which is WRATH. It is then that feelings of LOVE are replaced with feelings of HATE.

HATE cannot coexist with PEACE.

The first Angel had fallen and no longer had the power of Insight. This resulted in the second Angel of Desire becoming blind also. This mean it could not discern the difference between righteous pleasure and unrighteous pleasure, causing it to fall also.

The third is the Angel of Ignorance

Interpretation:

The duty of the third Angel was to provide the Soul with knowledge of Truth. However, the first Angel had fallen, depriving the Soul and the other Angels of Insight. This meant that the second Angel of desire could not tell the difference between righteous pleasure and unrighteous pleasure.

The third Angel was then unable to discern the difference between knowledge of good and knowledge of evil. All that it knew was that pleasure could be pursued and experienced through both, but only when one was ignored, and that depends on which one the Soul has the most faith in.

The third Angel was deprived of understanding, and it was tempted by unrighteous desire and so it became the Angel of Ignorance.

When the Soul is deprived of the influence of ascended righteous Angels, it is incapable of fair judgement, and this leaves it open to judgement.

The fourth Angel is the Excitement of Death

Interpretation:

The duty of the fourth Angel was to inspire the Soul in order to increase its passion, thereby strengthening its willpower.

If the first three Angels had not fallen, the fourth Angel would have provided the Soul with the Excitement of Life, which is the Love of spiritual things. However, because the first three Angels had fallen, the fourth Angel now provided the Soul with the Excitement of Death, which is the Love of worldly things.

The first Angel had made the Soul BLIND.

The second Angel had tempted the Soul with UNRIGHTEOUS DESIRE.

The third Angel had deprived the Soul of THE ABILITY TO JUDGE.

The fourth Angel seduced the Soul with DEATH.

The death referred to is of course spiritual death, as opposed to physical death.

The fifth Angel is the Kingdom of the Flesh

Interpretation:

The duty of the fifth Angel was to support the Soul in its quest to come to know itself as a spiritual being. It is because the first four Angels had fallen that this fifth Angel fell also. The Soul had become overwhelmed by its love for worldly things. It had become intoxicated by worldly pleasures and power.

The fifth Angel began teaching the Soul that it was a physical being, and that it was in and of the material world.

It is because of this that the Soul becomes blind to itself and to other Souls. It sees everyone as physical beings that are dependent on their physical body for life.

When the Spiritual Kingdom within is no longer perceived, the Soul finds itself in the Kingdom of the Flesh, the only place that it has left to rule, a place that has a finite existence.

What does it profit a man that he gains the whole world yet loses his Soul.

The sixth Angel is Foolish Wisdom of Flesh

Interpretation:

The duty of the sixth Angel was to council the Soul in order to make it spiritually wise by showing the merits of Love, Truth and Understanding, and by revealing the true nature and purpose of the Souls existence. However, because the previous five Angels had fallen, this Angel fell also. The only thing it had to give to the Soul now was wisdom concerning the material world and the physical body that the Soul had been led to believe that it was.

Everything that is in and of the material realm is destined to dissolve back into its root substance, and that includes the physical body and anything that it has acquired that is of this world.

Therefore, any wisdom gained of these things is temporary and foolish. The Soul can become wise in learning to play the game of life in this world, but it is foolish because in the end it is left with nothing of worth.

The seventh Angel is Wrathful Wisdom.

Interpretation:

The duty of the seventh Angel was to provide the Soul with the righteous wisdom of peace and love, but because the first six Angels had fallen, the seventh Angel had learned from them the wisdom of violence and hate, which is wrathful wisdom.

The seventh Angel fell because it could now not commit itself fully to either righteous wisdom or unrighteous wisdom, and so was left without passion for either and so it provided both to the Soul, leaving it to choose between them.

Wisdom stands or falls on its own merits, and those merits were dependent on the first three Angels and the Souls faith in good or evil, in other words; what its heart had felt.

20) They asked the soul, Whence do you come slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?

Interpretation:

The fallen Angels had become blind having no insight, and they no longer recognized the Soul as their master, but now they saw their power being taken away and they were being slayed as the Soul overcame them. They wanted to know where the Soul had come from, and where it was going. They did not know that it had come from the Light that existed in the beginning, and that it was returning to that Light at the end of its journey.

The space that the Soul was conquering was the space between the beginning and the end that was filled with darkness. It is a space in the mind, where the fallen Angels had become trapped, a place referred to as the carnal mind.

21) The soul answered and said, What binds me has been slain, and what turns me about has been overcome,

Interpretation:

The Soul now declares that it is free from the influence of the fallen Angels and has become its own master.

22) and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died.

Interpretation:

The Soul had ended its desire for pleasures and could no longer be turned about seeking pleasures from either righteous or unrighteous desire. This meant that the Soul’s heart was empty and no longer in conflict with itself.

The Soul had come to know itself and was no longer bound by ignorance which had died.

23) In a aeon I was released from a world, and in a Type from a type, and from the fetter of oblivion which is transient.

Interpretation:

Aeon refers to an unspecified measure of time it can be any length, short or long, from a moment to an eternity. Every single even occurs in its own Aeon.

The events in Chapter 8:1-23 is an aeon in which the Soul freed itself for the influence and control of the 7 fallen Angels, in doing so the Soul was released from the darkness of the materialistic mind.

The Soul was no longer blind or ignorant of its true nature and power and it was no longer afraid of death, it knew that it was temporary.

24) From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.

Interpretation:

The Soul would now send the rest of its life journey in silence, which is at peace.
